16-03-10 - Rendering

Today i didn't do anything except render. I can't give much detail, the most i can say is that i put the computer to render the video and i just messed around with garageband and tried to make some kind of background music. The end result was far from perfect, if i have more time i can make it much better. Here is the final result:

15-03-10 - Finalizing

Today i keyed out the background and just replaced it with the backgrounds. This didn't really take much time, but what was time consuming was the fact that i had to re arrange and order it. Here is a screen shot of the before and after screen shots:

09-03-10 - Continuing the Editing

Today i got my laptop working again and just got some ideas in the first lesson. because there are a whole lot of combinations i could have used in the background, i asked my team for some ideas.In the second lesson i put those ideas to the test. I mainly made the background. The video still does need keying because i just recovered my files and so i will have to key the background. Here is a screen shot of the background i made:

08-03-10 - Helping Felix

Because we were having difficulties with the laptop, i had to help Felix with the iWeb. I helped him by giving him information and setting out the layout. I also figured out how to publish the website with drop box. Here is a screenshot of the website:

2-03-10 - Editing

Today i started to edit my video. But i couldn't get done much because my laptop ran out of charge. Today i basically keyed out my background and my laptop ran out of charge. I can't show you any screen shots because of an issue. My laptop has started to fail. The right fan had an issue and it was causing problems. It wouldn't heat the Processor as well and so it started to freeze at times. We had to send it to Apple to get fixed and we have run across a problem. It the store has the fan, the laptop might be here tomorrow and we can start to edit again. The thing is that that is the only laptop with the software to edit our videos. If the store doesn't have the parts, the laptop would be back in about some weeks, which basically means that we would be dead for the project.

01-03-10 - Filming

Today we started our filming. We set it up in the I.T room, we setup the green screen, and our camera and got straight to recording. We did run into some problems as in some of us had to go early and we just couldn't record the whole video, but i think we can just add in a voice over later on. The green screen wasn't perfect, but i can edit that properly and it does come out satisfactorily. The problem with the green screen was that the lighting wasn't ideal so there were shadows. 23-02-10 - Writing the Script Overview

Today i finished my script overview. This was basically what we needed to start our script. Now we can continue to write our script and i feel that we will finish the script in the next day and be ready to shoot in about a few days. For our script we now need to research about the technologies and write the word for word script. So far we haven't had any problems so i think we are doing good, I do predict some time issues maybe some editing issues but i believe that we will counter act them. Here is a screen shot of our overview:

22-02-10 - Create Stage

Today we are starting our create stage. Our group is going to make a video and a website. Our video is going to be a composite of many videos into one. We will have a green screen of us talking, and beside that a video of us acting out to give a practical example of what we are talking about. I'm also thinking about having some particular animations for each person. Our next step is to write the script and that is one of the longest steps in our plan so, we better get a move on. I'm going to be concentrating more on the video so i might be the one doing most of that work. Felix is taking care of the website so he might not be that connected with the process of making the video. Ali is doing the lesson plan, and the lesson plan is in the video so he will be helping me with the video. Our whole presentation is due on March 4th. That leaves us about 10 - 11 days to finish the project and that is perfect for our plan because our projected finish date is March 1st, so that leaves us with 3 days to edit and really consider every aspect of the project. In the last three days we can also put more time into making the website, maybe we can help Felix make the website because what we were thinking of doing was uploading the video to the website but that depends on how big the video is. I am confident that we will finish the video and project on time, the only thing I'm worried about is the final video size.
